Redesigned credit monitoring into a behavior-driven system that helps 4M+ users understand, improve, and take control of their financial health.
STARTING POINT
Visibility without clarity
Users could see their credit score move, but didn’t always understand what was influencing it—leaving little guidance on what to change or how to take action.
APPROACH
From insight to exploration
Through competitive analysis and early explorations, I found that most credit experiences prioritized monitoring over understanding—leaving users without clear direction on what to change.
SOLUTION
From monitoring to action
I redesigned credit monitoring to make each factor clear, actionable, and easy to access—giving users clear entry points into what matters most.
Signals — what’s changing in your score
Context — why it matters and what’s driving it
Action — what to do next to improve
Every factor is explained with clear next steps
Credit scores are confusing because nothing tells you why. I broke each factor into plain language and added AI insights throughout, so users always know what's affecting their score and what they can do about it. I also brought this to the web dashboard, so the experience is consistent across mobile and desktop.
See outcomes before you act
One of my favorite parts of this project was designing the credit simulator — a what-if tool that lets users explore scenarios before committing to anything. What happens to my score if I pay off this card? What if I open a new account?
Giving people a safe space to experiment made the whole experience feel less intimidating and a lot more empowering.
